What is a Dimple Creation Procedure?

Naturally dimples are aberration of facial muscles during development as fibers attached to the skin and when the person smiles, laugh or speaks these muscle contract to cause dimpling of skin.
Dimple creation by means of cosmetic surgery involves doing the same as in naturally formed dimples there are two types of created dimples by mean of cosmetic surgery.
Static Dimple
That involves permanent dimple whether a person is smiling or heat it always stay there. This is not liked by many and hence a very few percentages of clients’ request for that.
Dynamic Dimple
This type of dimple only appears when a person smiles and the technique involves fixature of a part of smile muscles to the overlying skin. This is the most requested type of dimple by the clients and then on this type of dimple shape is an important factor.

Oval

This type is suitable for chubby round faces and is ova in shape as requested after a family relatives’ similarity.

Longitudinal

Dimple Creation Procedure:

The Dimple creation takes close to 2 hrs for the whole procedure from paper work, sensitivity testing, procedure room to discharge papers.

It is done under Local anesthesia where an injection is placed at the site of dimple creation to numb the area and then dissection is from inside the mouth and muscle files of smile muscle are identified and fixed to the overlying skin using dissolvable stitches (one of two).

It is a painless technique and no pain felt during or after the procedure. No bandages are required exempt for people requesting very deep dimple where a pressure bandage is applied externally.

After Care:

  • Betadine mouth gargles after every meal.
  • No touching for a week of internal stitches to avoid infection
  • Soft diet till the internal stitches heal
  • Follow up after 1 week

Healing Process:

  • The proper healing takes close to 3-6 months for dimple to look natural.
  • First month it may look artificial and stationary but gradually it starts to look natural as swelling settles.
  • But in our experience 99% of clients they love it after a week only and happy with the result.
